French manufacturer buys AmeriWater

A manufacturer of Dayton has been hit by a French company.

AmeriWater Inc. - a manufacturer of water treatment and water purification systems - was acquired last month by France-based Degremont, a subsidiary of Suez Environnement.

Terms of the deal, announced this week, were not disclosed.

Diane Dolan will remain as CEO AmeriWater, who has over 40 employees. It contains no major change in local operations.

"We are delighted to join forces with Degrémont." Dolan said."The synergies resulting from position our organization as a whole to strengthen our market share with a wider assortment of products and services."

James Baker, vice president of AmeriWater, will continue to provide technical expertise and lead the strategy of product development, company officials said.

Ameriwater reported $ 9.2 million in revenue for 2010, according to Dayton Business Journal research.Launched in 1995, the company designs and manufactures high-purity water treatment for the healthcare market with a wide range of systems specifically designed for all areas of hospitals and clinics.
