Jeannette Edwards, 72, of Poplar Bluff went to her Heavenly home July 8, 2011 at her residence in Poplar Bluff. Visitation will begin at 10AM Monday July 11, 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar St. Poplar Bluff. Funeral will begin at noon with the Rev. Marshall Link officiating. Burial will be at City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Edwards was born Feb. 25, 1939 in Oregon, to the late Willie Perry and Phoebe Sisney-Perry. She has lived in Poplar Bluff since 1950. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church near Williamsville, Mo. She retired from family services office in Poplar Bluff, in 1984. She enjoyed crafts, her grandchildren, playing the piano and all other church activities, and being a pastors wife; of which they pastored 12 churches, the present one being Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
On Nov. 2, 1961 she married Robert Edwards in Butler County and he survives.
Also surviving are two sons: David P. Edwards and wife Gail of Poplar Bluff; who is pastor of Duck Creek Baptist Church in Puxico; and Dennis W. Edwards and wife Lisa of Poplar Bluff. A sister; Katie Doyle of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren; Jessica Edwards and companion Aaron Selsor of Poplar Bluff, Wesley and Nichole Edwards of Columbia; Morgan Edwards of Poplar Bluff and Kevin Edwards of Poplar Bluff.
