Indigenous plunder in Zimbabwe
Rejoice Ngwenya by
Converts the land reform in Africa and those on both sides of the political divide in Zimbabwe is my criticism to the palace unsavory ideological. Unpopularity is unpleasant, but when it reinforces the truth, justice and common sense, it becomes an invaluable asset.
Uncompromising African National Congress and the Movement for the "moderate" Democratic Change are vague on punishment to be imposed on looters of the private property of Robert Mugabe's ZANU-PF party.
In 2000, he unleashed an orgy of unprecedented violence on white Zimbabwean citizens to prop up his dissipating political fortunes. To date, all but 4000 commercial farmers remain on their properties, albeit bruised, frightened and permanently insecure.
The ANC has been conspicuous by its silence on this plunder, purportedly keeping an eye open in anticipation of what hardliners term a bomb waiting to explode in their agrarian backyard. Buoyed by the illusion of Zimbabwe’s ‘land reform’, Julius Malema has exploited this policy blackout, triggering his own version of ‘land discourse’ that has left hundreds of white South African farmers dead.
More level-headed politicians – particularly in Helen Zille’s Democratic Alliance [DA], have lacerated Jacob Zuma for failing to reign in on Malema’s provocative racist bigotry, reminding South Africans that Zimbabwe’s crumbling fortunes are traceable only to widespread property violations.
On his part, Mugabe has acknowledged that farm invasions have failed to ‘empower’ black Zimbabweans. He has turned his political gold diggers on multinational corporations in what minister Saviour Kasukuwere terms ‘indigenisation of trade and industry’.
And all of this is taking place against a backdrop of a so-called ‘new era of political reforms’ in Zimbabwe, now given traction by Zuma’s insistence that Mugabe must endeavour to fulfil all terms of the Global Political Agreement signed 15 September 2008. Political analysts – progressive ones at that – are united in that the trajectory of political transformation is fast moving towards permanently displacing Robert Mugabe and his ZANU-PF from the seat of national governance.
Once the new ‘people driven’ constitution is in place, a raft of SADC-approved electoral, media and security sector reforms will ensure that free and fair elections in 2012-13 relegate ZANU-PF to a distant minority. In this case, both Morgan Tsvangirai and Welshman Ncube’s MDC will be free to reign!

Amazon Offers Up Watchdog Task Manager for FREE, Different Than a ...
Task Killers again? Sort of. At the beginning of this month, Amazon offered up a task killer for free and we tried to do our best to educate some of our newer readers who may not have known, that these apps are basically useless now that phones are up to Android 2.2 and above.
Today though, Amazon returned with a similar app that isn’t exactly a task killer, but more of a task “manager” called Watchdog . First of all, it’s a $3.49 app that can be had for nothing, so you may want to grab it just for the sake of grabbing it. But second, we want to know if this app is something worth having on your phone?
When we tweeted our initial thoughts on it earlier, many of you were quick to point out that this app is actually different than your average run-of-the-mill task killer. In fact, a decent sized group of you made sure we knew that this app wasn’t that bad and can come in handy if you run into rogue or poorly coded apps that have run amuck on your device. Watchdog can tell you if something is using up too much CPU and then let you decide if it should be killed. So in essence, it is more than one monitor CPU as a job killer - and it's not a bad thing because the RAM is something that we like to let Android handle.
So we kind of changed our opinion on this software (a little), and recommends that you at least give it a look. We'll give it a good run through the next few days more and report. But again, the app is usually $ 3.50 and so can help the effectiveness of your device, why not try it before it jumps back in price?
And as always, please feel free to let us know your thoughts on Watchdog in the comments.

Just got an alert that the Music service is exceeding the CPU usage threshold and I haven’t listened to music on my phone all day. In the last week I’ve been getting poor battery life on my OG Droid. I got my Google Music invite around the same time. Since I got my invite, I’ve been uploading my music from home 8,600 songs so far. I’m wondering if all the updating to my Google Music library is causing the Music service on my phone to work overtime with all the updates.Anyone else notice this?
Idiots? And you are the smart guy who did exactly what that blog warned about?…suddenly you are the know all on the topic because of an article that you read? Well read some more. Read some of the links posted above and hear what some of the best Android developers who thoroughly understand our OS have to say about task killers and why they aren’t necessary.
