All kinds of colorful wildflowers at Davis Lake
They can be seen along the east side of the lake, from the junction at the south end to the end of the paved road at Lightning Tree Boat Ramp.Included in the annual display of wildflowers are scattered yellow Buttercups, a “zillion” yellow Mule Ears, all kinds of purple Lupine, rare and beautiful red Snow Plants (also known as Snow Flowers) and some kind of blue-colored ground cover (I’m not sure what it is called).

Nestled in northwest Carson City, our 18 scenic holes wind through the Sierra Foothills and the Silver Oak residential community. Spread out over 160 acres, this eighteen-hole public golf course features five sets of tees making Silver Oak enjoyable for golfers of all ages and skill levels.
In April of 2005, Silver Oak opened its brand new clubhouse featuring a golf shop, locker rooms, restaurant, banquet facilities, Silver Oak Homes sales office and more. A beautiful practice facility includes a driving range, practice bunker and putting green.
The Course
The Par-71 layout is 6,564 yards from the tournament tees. We are located just 25 minutes south of Reno and 30 minutes from Lake Tahoe. Dramatic elevation changes on the opening nine holes produce unparalleled scenic views of the valley. The finishing nine offer a unique contrast to the front as it winds through the Silver Oak master planned community.
The Events Center
Silver Oak Event Center hosts many special events and private banquets. We offer three very different venues to provide choices for your group. Silver Oak is a handicap and senior friendly facility.
The Restaurant and Bar is a popular choice for weddings. The restaurant is open for lunch daily. The view from this beautiful room is the sun setting behind the sierra mountains as seen from all views of the restaurant and bar.
The Guinn room is an enclosed meeting room adjacent to the bar on the main floor. Although it has a permanent dance floor and brick fireplace for small gatherings, it is ideal for a business meeting or club luncheon.

Alright so my second fear is spiders. Pretty common. Im sure most of you feel the same. They are small... blood thirsty... poisonous....and catch pray with elaborate nets... er... webs. They are such crafty little predators... the Japanese are actually studying them for crowd control technology. Genius! Hey Detroit.... get on it now..... before we only have the Pontiac's of net shooters! So... can you blame me. I fear them. Ever since I was young and watched that scene from that the Disney Movie... Something Wicked This Way Comes.... A horror children's film, Disney decided to green light, full of spiders attacking children, carnies stealing peoples minds and freeks on parade WTF Disney? What a great film! But as you can see, its just more proof, fear is great for business and ticket sales.... I guess its like my good friend Tom Cruise ( who taught me not to name drop)... put it... "If you could ever write a horror movie involving penguins... you would have the next Titanic!" But back to spiders and me. I am fairly certain spiders everywhere hate me. Why? Cause I have smashed a lot of them... a lot!! With various things. Like my girlfriends shoe... or her hairbrush.. or her computer... or my favorite ...her hand (when she's sleeping of course..
